I led the creative and visual direction from concept and storyboard through the final grade — directing, shooting alongside a second camera operator, and supervising the edit and color to match my boards shot for shot. A line producer ran props and the all-important job of keeping our tiny lead happy on set, while an editor cut to my storyboard under my direction. The product itself was rebuilt and composited extensively in post, so it reads flawlessly in every frame. The real challenge was the clock. We had roughly ninety minutes of usable time with a seven-month-old in a single location — a rare stretch of luck with talent that age — to capture everything two finished commercials would need. From that one tight session I built two complete spots: the same toy in two colorways for two of the client's sub-brands, each composited and graded to look exactly as I'd designed it.
